Digimon, a beloved childhood cartoon for so many of us, and one that many grew up alongside. Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna serves as a profoundly meaningful conclusion to over 20 years of journey between the chosen children and their Digimon. This animated film is part of the Digimon 20th anniversary celebration project.

To put it simply, Digimon Adventure: Last Evolution Kizuna takes the themes of growing up and not wanting to grow up, and renders them into something far more tangible. The narrative is beautiful and tear-stained, yet it never loses its Digimon identity—offering plenty of scenes that pay homage to the original, giving us that nostalgic fix we’ve been craving. Throughout the entire story, there’s an unmistakably familiar atmosphere, even if we only catch glimpses of the characters we know and love here and there. The 100-minute runtime focuses primarily on Taichi and Yamato, but it’s enough to deliver its message with precision: the story of those who don’t want to grow up, who want to escape into childhood memories, and those who accept growth and move forward toward the future.

As for the Thai dub, I have to say it doesn’t disappoint at all. It captures that feeling of waking up early to watch cartoons as a child remarkably well. And yes, they even deliver those cool attack names with style.

There’s also a little surprise from Cartoon Club after the credits, so don’t rush to leave your seat just yet :D
